Description for Quarry Ridge
Quarry Ridge consists of a main loop (about 1 mile) as well as several downhill lines of various difficulty. The main loop starts with a straight shot along the base of the ridge, turns riders up a sandy climb to the high point, then follows the gradually descending ridgeline back to the start of the loop. The singletrack on the main loop is fast and has some sections of very nice flow with only 1 technical section to trip up beginners. More advanced riders can challenge themselves to power through the steep sandy climb, slice through the long downhill with as little brakes as possible, try to beat their own times on each successive loop.
If you want to mix things up or ride something more technical, look for the alternate trails which cut down the face of the ridge. These lines are accessed by bearing right on any of the 3 forks in the trail at the top of the hill. Visit the website of Capital Off Road Pathfinders for more information and other MTB trails and events in the Madison area.
