Description for Riverside Loop
This ride circles the majority of 7000 acre Riverside State Park. Starting at Bowl and Pitcher picnic area it follows the river downstream on pleasant singletrack and returns on the mid-bluff doubletrack for a view of the park and the Spokane River. This area has many trails but you are always between the river and the bluff so it is hard to get really lost.
Directions to Riverside Loop Trailhead
From the Bowl and Pitcher picnic area, cross the suspension bridge (walk zone) and up the stairs on the opposite side. Stay right through the rock towers on either side and take the major right after the last one. This leads to a nice singletrack above the river. Stay to the right for several miles until you come to a roundabout parking area. Head inland and stay right into a large field. (actually a WW2 airstrip) Halfway down the trail heads left at a half buried tire and up a short hill. Follow the level double track and take the second singletrack right (about 1/2 mile) Follow this until it intersects a double track. Turn left to the bottom of a climb up the bluff. At the top head left on the road and shortly back into the park. Follow the edge of the bluff for several miles as the trail steps down to a burned area and then again down to the paved Centennial trail. Go straight across onto single track and follow it back to your first turn toward the river.
