Description for Rockville Bench
I thought Rockville Bench trail was an amazing trail until I rode Gooseberry Mesa Trail. This is still an awesome trail but Gooseberry Mesa was better. It is not quite as well marked and the lines don't seem to flow quite as nice but it is still very fun. Rockville Bench trail is the same kind of riding as Gooseberry, no huge grinding climbs but lots of short power up and downs. Steep ups and steep downs, ledges, bowls, drops, twists, and turns. Definitely worth doing if you are in the area. Rockville Bench trail is about 10 miles with a 400 foot climb. From the trailhead the first climb stinks, very loose and tough, you may just want to climb the road. The trail crosses the road then drops into a wash. Follow the wash back under the road and then to the border of Zion and the Chinle trail (no bikes!). Take the single track just east of the old corral into another wash. Eventually there is a single track out of this wash, before the road, that takes you up to the good stuff.
Directions to Rockville Bench Trailhead
To get to Rockville Bench trail take Highway 9 east through Rockville. Just as you're going left around a turn to enter Springdale, before the organic fruit farm, turn left on Anasazi Way, a very small steep paved uphill road. There is an immediate right about 200 feet up the road that is very easy to miss. This drops to the trailhead for the Chinle Trail, park here and then take the trial or up the road just a little ways to the trail.
