Description for Porcupine Rim
Porcupine Rim Trail is one of the most famous rides in Utah. It is a 15-30 mile ride with phenomenal views and challenging terrain. The ride requires advanced skills. This is not a beginners ride. You can do this as a one-way shuttle or as a long epic 34 mile loop. The ride starts with a tough/strenuous 3 mile grind. There are amazing views at the top of this climb. This is where the fun starts. You have 10 miles of astonishing, mind blowing, technical single track. There are numerous fun ledges as you skirt along the edge of crazy cliffs. Just stay on the main trail and you shouldn’t get lost.
Directions to Porcupine Rim Trailhead
To ride Porcupine Rim Trial as an epic loop start in Moab. Climb Sand Flats Road to the trail head. Ride the trail and then head back on Hwy 128, 6.5 miles to Moab
To shuttle leave a car in Moab or 6.5 miles north on 128 at the Negro Bill Canyon parking area off highway 128. The Porcupine Rim Trail begins on the Sand Flats Road. Turn left off Moab's main drag onto 300 South, then right when the road ends, then second left. From the entry gate drive 7 miles. The trailhead is on the left, near the small cattle watering tanks.
