Description for Allegany State Park
Allegany State Park was name Top Amazing Spot in the nation in 2007. Allegany State Park's 65,000 acres is known for its primitive forested valleys, un-glaciated landscape, fall leaves and wildlife. The two developed areas, Red House and Quaker, make this the largest state park in the system. The Art Roscoe Ski Touring Area has some of the finest groomed cross country skiing and mountain bike trails in the Northeast. The trails at Allegany offer long climbs and descents, high speed downhills, and sweeping vistas. Allegany is the site of the annual Raccoon Rally cross-country mountain bike race.
Directions to Allegany State Park Trailhead
From Buffalo, NY, head south on 219 to I-86. Don't get on i-86, just go to the top of the hill to the trailhead.
