Description for Bethpage State Park
Riding Bethpage is not like riding a specific trail. There are many different paths, with no set route. The paths are narrow, and there are a few tight turns on some. The front section is slightly hilly, while the back (towards the 135) drops suddenly about 30-40 feet at some sections. It is a convenient local ride, that has its own character to it. It's all about doing some exploring and finding new paths. Watch out for downed trees and old BMX style jumps that have/are beginning to erode away.
Directions to Bethpage State Park Trailhead
Drive to the park's main parking lot (vehicle fee in the summer, see below how to get around this) and on the southwest side of the parking lot, you will see a few trail entry points. Enter and start exploring. If you don't want to pay the vehicle fee you can either bike up the Greenbelt trail, or park on a residential road just outside the park (Powell Rd.) and ride your bike in.
