Description for Fisher Creek
Fisher Creek is a great mountain bike trail. Park at Williams Creek trailhead and go south to get the 2 mile road ride out of the way. The ride up the double track when you turn left off the highway is benevolent and really quite beautiful with just a 3/4 mile granny grunt to top off your climbing. At this point, stop at the trail registry, write your info., and get ready for some big fun on a new section of the trail, immediately to your left - you get a bonus section of new, fast, but narrow singletrack for about two miles to an intersection where the right takes you to Warm Springs Meadows and the left continues on the Fisher Creek Loop. Across a meadow and a slow, steady uphill through the trees and down again on a wild roller coaster of a single track ride through the trees to another meadow and a last grunt up a sandy section of the trail for one more fast downhill till you break out into the open with a breathtaking view to the West and the entire Salmon River Valley. An excellent ride I will be back soon to do Fisher Creek again. Bring a full Camelbak and be in good shape with some emergency repair supplies and some food. We saw no one on the entire ride and my emergency cell phone had no service. Estimate a minimum of 3 hours for this ride and be acclimated. The ride starts at 7,500 feet, stays around the 8,000 foot level and tops out at 8,500 on the granny grunt climb on the road. I would rate this ride for intermediate and above riders.
Directions to Fisher Creek Trailhead
Park at Williams Creek, bike up the highway to Fisher Creek entrance and then follow the trail markers.
