Need some informations about riding around Sedona mid-april 2011. I've been around Moab-Fruita last May and I'm interesting about something similar in Az.

Any informations will be appreciate (wheather, camp site, trails, etc.).

Thanks.

Weather should be perfect that time of year. Watch out for the monsoons. Your day will start out perfect and then it will dump rain for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Not sure exactly what time of year they are.

As far as camping goes I don't really know any areas. I stayed at an RV place once, some backpacking, and then some places that I don't think were legal. I know there are a couple campgrounds in Oak Creek Canyon that are beautiful. I don't think you could ride from the campground though.

Most of the rides I have done in Sedona rides are on the site. Cathedral Rock is a classic, broken arrow is awesome, there is some fun stuff up by coffee pot rock.

If you get a chance you could also check out Flagstaff. There is some great camping and great riding up in the Ponderosa Pines.

Have Fun!

I rode Sedona a couple of years ago and it was some of the best riding I have ever done. Cathedral Rock is by far the best riding. I recommend parking at the trailhead located near Oak Creek. There is bike shop at the north end of Oak Creek that can be very helpful. Llama loop is real good and you can jump on it from there. The short loop is real good to and fast in a clockwise direction. There is a real good trail guide that I recommend buying. It has real directions and descriptions of the trails. It was written by Cosmic Ray, I think the name of the book is Fat Tire Trails and Tails or something like that. It is worth every penny. I stayed at a time share when I was there so I don't know what camping will be like. I think there is a KOA somewhere around there. Good luck and enjoy.
