So I just started riding. Can't run anymore. So I go drop $500 or so on a middle of the road mountain bike and another $300 or so on safety gear, hydration, tools, and tire repair stuff. The one thing I forgot when buying all this stuff was transport. I thought I'll just pull the wheels off, and stick the bike in the back seat, and put the wheels in the trunk. I own a mustang. What a pain in the a**. So I finally decided on a bike rack and installed it. Actually, I didn't install it, the guy at the store did, but this is how it breaks down.

First off, I purchased the Yakima King Joe 2. The rack holds two bikes. This rack isn't much different than any other removable rack I suspect. The differentiator is how easy it was to install. It took longer to remove from the box than it did to put on the car. Total time from box to mounting it to the trunk was 10 minutes. Removing from the box took about 7 minutes.

Overall great rack for small price (under $150), easy to install, easy to remove if you don't want to leave it on the car all the time. The thing even folds up to a pretty small size so you can just stuff it in the trunk when you're not using it.

I'll try to post some pics later.
