Description for Markham Park
The Markham Park Mountain Bike Trails offers bicycle enthusiasts a demanding experience with complexity leaning more towards intermediate and expert bike riders. Markham Park is not as hilly as other places, but Markham did a wonderful job exploiting all the possibilities the natural terrain has to offer. Some sections have quite a few roots with some short but steep downhills. There are also quite a few wooden boardwalks. One of the boardwalks is called Pipeline which is about 100 feet long, feels like your mountain biking the big waves of the North Shore. There is outstanding signage with a lot of alternate routes around the Expert area. Markham Park has a freeride section with some massive drops, jumps, and huge wall ride. There is only 10 miles of trail but there is more than enough trails to keep you bust for quite a while. The Markham Trails are directional thus so there is less chance of collisions. There is also a small pump track with table-tops and berms. There is a bike wash station and restrooms, everything a mountain biker would need. Markham Park is a great place to ride.
Directions to Markham Park Trailhead
To get to Markham Park Mountain Bike Trails from I-95 or the Florida's Turnpike, take I-595 westbound; veer right at I-75 split to exit at the next ramp, Weston Road. Park entrance is on the right at the Weston Road intersection. To get to Markham Park Mountain Bike Trails from I-75, take I-595 eastbound. Exit on Flamingo Road (exit #1B) and make U-turn under I-595 to head west on State Road 84. Go past N.W. 136th Avenue. Park entrance is on the right at the Weston Road intersection.
