Description for High Plains to Dowdy Draw Loop
This mountain bike ride is a mixture of single track, double track and dirt roads. Be prepared to go through 20 or more cattle gates. You can start at the High Plains trailhead off of route 128. Ride west on the High plains single track for 2.5 miles. Cross over hwy 93 and jump on the Dowdy Draw trail. This trail was just opened to mountain bikes a few months ago so enjoy it. It starts of with about a mile or so of dirt road and then 2 miles of downhill single and double track. You will then intersect and go east on the Community Ditch Trail. Stay on this old canal road for 1.7 miles and then cross back over hwy 93. Now jump on the Coal Seam single track for a half mile of fun downhill. Continue east on Marshall Valley trail until it connect to the Community Ditch again, now head west. This will take you to the Greenbelt Plateau connector back to the High Plains Trail. From here you can do a second loop or ride back to the start. This is a great ride on the single speed with just one real climb.
