Description for Vail Lake Dam climb
We took the fire road to the dam. Then you take the dam climb up to the summit at which point we decided to head down the DH portion of ride it was fun but technically challenging for a couple of beginners.
Directions to Vail Lake Dam climb Trailhead
I-15 to Temecula Pkwy (Head east). Approximately 10 miles inland entrance is on the left. There is a 10 dollar charge to ride for the day.

I rode there for the first time this past Sunday. It the climb wasn't super difficult but it was long. There were parts that were to steep to climb on my bike. They offer you a map at the entrance gate, the map looks like I gave my daughter a blank sheet of paper and a black marker and told her to go crazy. There are no reference markers on the map they provide you so if its your first time it will keep you guessing. There are no markers on the trails to indicate what trail your on, and the DH portions are really rocky. Overall there are tons of trails, even though I marked out a 3 mile route we ended riding about 9 miles that day just exploring different trail networks.
