Description for Pension Mountain
The city of Berryville owns some land on Pension Mountain and they have developed some trails for hiking, mountain biking and off road motorized vehicle use. The trails on the east side of CR501 are for non-motorized use only, the trails meander through the woods and follow the bluff line for about half of the trails. Very scenic. The trails on the top of the mountain are relatively flat with just a few easy climbs near the bluffline.
Directions to Pension Mountain Trailhead
To get to the trails, in Berryville, turn south on Hwy 221 off of Hwy 62 just east of the square. Follow 221 out of town through a residential area, Turn left at the stop sign, continue past Southern Heights Baptist Church. Make a 90 degree curve and turn left on CR501. Follow CR501 up to Pension Mountain. Look for the signs at the intersection of CR501 and CR523.
