Description for Monolith Garden Trail
The Monolith Garden (Cook Canyon) Trail is a surprisingly fun and scenic singletrack mountain bike trail on the outskirts of Kingman, Arizona. There are two trailheads for this trail. You can start at the Camp Beale Loop trailhead, or there is another one west of Hwy 93. The best way is to start at the CB-loop trailhead. That way you can link the two trails together for even more fun. From the trailhead you’ll take the rode to the left for about a quarter of a mile, and then you’ll get to a fork where a trail map is posted. This is where the trail meets up with the CB-loop to the right. Stay to the left of the sign to continue on to the Monolith trail. You’ll end up in a wash that goes under Hwy 93. Go past the cattle fences, and be sure to put them back in place. Follow the other mountain bike tire tracks, and/or the rock cairns. There are several forks along the way. The first one will take you to the other trailhead if you go to the left. Stay to the right. Take all other forks to the left. The trail is fairly flat, and there are a lot of awesome rock formations along the way. At about the 4-mile mark you’ll climb to the top of a saddle. The view from up there is amazing. Afterwards is the best part of the ride. You’ll get to another fork. Take it to the right. The next fork should look familiar. It’s the end of the loop. Take it to the left, and then stay on the trail you came in on the rest of the way back. The total ride back to the CB-loop fork is approximately 7 miles. With the CB-loop you’re looking at about 10 miles. These numbers may be off a little, because my GPS was cutting out.

Local club maintains the trails and does a great job. Big loop is about 10 miles and has amazing views. Small loop is about 3 miles and is good for a quick workout. Watch for the cholla cactus!
