Description for Rocky Ridge
Rocky Ridge Trail runs through a forest of ponderosa pines interspersed with stunted Gambel oaks and gnarled alligator junipers. The trail rollercoasters in and out of dry washes. This used to be one of my favorite trails back in 1996 but since then they have changed it. It is now a very different trial. I am not going to say that I agree or disagree but let's just say it's not my favorite anymore. It is still a great trail! There are some great views of Flagstaff and it's western suburbs.
The last time I rode this I combined it with Lower Brookbank to Upper Brookbank to Sunset to Schultz
creek. Very fun.
Directions to Rocky Ridge Trailhead
Drive north from Flagstaff 2 miles on US 180 to FR 420 (Schultz Pass Road). Turn east and follow FR 420 about a mile to a gate and cattle guard. Turn right down over the hill toward Schultz Creek and park. The trailhead is marked with a sign near the creekbed.
