Description for Kincaid Park
Kincaid Park in Anchorage Alaska is a 1400 acre forest atop an old glacial moraine that offers one of America’s top trail systems as well as Anchorage’s largest moose population. Kincaid Park is open to mountain bikes around June 1, or as soon as they are dry. There is a mountain bike race series that runs throught the summer. Kincaid Park is not a park built on a flat stretch of land. The terrain features really funky contours making it challenging and fun. Also, there are no other roads or highways nearby, so you feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere on these trails. Most of the trail is on double track but if you just ride on one of them then it is single track, just 2 of them side by side :). Kincaid Park mountain bike trails are some of the best in Anchorage.
Directions to Kincaid Park Trailhead
To find Kincaid Park, head south from downtown Anchorage on L Street and continue to follow this road as it turns into Minnesota. Take the Raspberry Road exit. Follow Raspberry west and just keep going. Just after you pass the Federal Communications Commission building there will be a fork in the road with a big wooden sign on the hill above announcing that you can enter the park in either direction. Turn right at the fork onto the dirt road and follow the road until it ends in a parking lot.
